As further development is planned for brown field sites, the need for appropriate management of contaminated land site investigations and remediation is becoming increasingly important.

AWN's Environment Team are the selected course tutors for the upcoming CPD one day training course being hosted by Engineers Ireland on Tuesday March 28th.

Appropriate management of contaminated land sites requires knowledge in several key areas including:

1. Legislation governing contaminated land site investigations;

2. Environmental and human health site risk assessments;

3. Groundwater chemistry and contamination migration paths in soil and water; and

4. Selection of appropriate remediation options.

Best practice in contaminated land management will be demonstrated throughout the course using an interactive case study based approach.
