In 2010 An Bord Pleanála granted planning permission for a phased €350 million redevelopment of the RTÉ Campus, at Montrose, Donnybrook, Dublin 4, over a period of 10 years.

RTÉ proposed a new multimedia broadcasting facility at the existing RTÉ campus at Montrose. The new facility provides television and radio studios, multi-purpose space, news room, orchestra rehearsal accommodation, staff office accommodation and associated facilities. AWN Consulting was part of the EIS Project Team.

AWN was appointed to undertake environmental assessments of the proposed scheme in relation to:

  • Noise & Vibration
  • Air Quality & Dust
  • Water (Hydrology)
  • Waste Management

AWN's role in the project included client consultation at the project inception stage through to providing expert evidence at the oral hearing stage. AWN previously conducted detailed environmental assessments as part of the Environmental Impact Statement included with the planning application to Dublin City Council.

At the oral hearing AWN Consulting directors gave evidence relating to noise & vibration, air quality & dust, water (hydrology and hydrogeology) and waste management. AWN presented evidence in a format that aided easy comprehension whilst also containing sufficient technical detail to upderpine the key findings.
