Waste Classification

In an effort to reduce costs while ensuring environmental compliance, companies require independent assessment of process wastes to determine likely waste classification and whether waste can be re-classified as being of a lower risk category, or if minor modifications could be made to the way the waste is collected, which would allow the waste to be classified in a different manner.

We apply the fundamentals of chemical analysis to determine concentrations of key components and apply the EPA Hazardous Waste Classification Tool and Hazardous Waste Legislation, to determine the category into which the waste falls.

We work with the client company to determine the key components and their concentrations which make the waste hazardous and identify simple process modifications or changes in waste collection and storage practices which could reduce the concentrations of key components to a point where the waste may be re-classified as a lower risk material.
