ESB plans to demolish and redevelop its 1960s Fitzwilliam Street headquarters, doubling the capacity of the existing offices. The development, which was successfully granted planning permission in September 2015, is almost 50,000m2 in extent and will also comprise a cafĂ©/restaurant, retail, event space, residential and ancillary uses.

AWN Consulting were appointed as the waste consultants for the project and provided detailed waste design advice to the project team for the initial design and pre-planning stage of the development. AWN's input ensured that adequate and appropriate waste storage facilities and access/egress for waste was incorporated into the design of the development at an early stage.

AWN developed an integrated waste management strategy for the development which provides a legally compliant, environmentally sustainable, practical, efficient and robust strategy for segregation, storage and collection of waste from the development during operations.

AWN also prepared the Waste Chapter for the EIS for the planning application, prepared responses to requests for further information from Dublin City Council and assisted at the Oral hearing in June 2015.
