AWN was appointed to the design team to ensure that best in class waste management design was incorporated into the design of the new children's hospital. The location, sizing and design of waste storage areas is critical to the efficient running of a development, particularly for a development of this scale. AWN worked closely with the design team and the project architects in particular to incorporate first-rate waste management facilities into the design of the new hospital.

AWN was also appointed to assess the impact of the development in terms of Waste Management, Air Quality & Climate, and Noise & Vibration and prepared the relevant chapters of the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for submission with the planning application. AWN was an expert witness at the Oral Hearing for the project.

Planning permission was granted for the development in April 2016.
