The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has published a draft document, for public consultation, that amalgamates and updates the previous environmental noise guidance in relation to licenced sites issued by the body.

The EPA commissioned AWN to amalgamate and update previous noise guidance issued by the Agency. A draft document was published in December 2011 for a period of public consultation. This document is intended to assist licensed sites with the assessment of their potential (i.e. during IPPC licence application process) and actual (i.e. in relation to on-going operations) noise impact on the local environment. It provides the relevant knowledge and guidance to licensees together with their consultants, regulators and interested third parties. The document can be downloaded here.
