An Bord Pleanala has announced the granting of planning permission for the Meath Waste-to-Energy facility to accept some types of hazardous waste and to increase the facility's tonnage to 220,000 tonnes/annum. AWN Consulting provided comprehensive air dispersion and noise modelling for the application to ensure that no adverse impacts occurred in the surrounding environment and presented the results of their assessment at the oral hearing in 2012. AWN Consulting has worked closely with Indaver Ireland over the last ten years in helping the facility obtain both planning and licensing permits. The facility opened in September 2011 and was the first municipal waste-to-energy facility to operate in Ireland. For more information please contact edward.porter@awnconsulting.com
