AWN Consulting has developed in house capability over the last number of years, with the aim of being positioned to assist clients to comply with the requirements of the Flood Risk Management Planning Guidelines. In relation to this project AWN Consulting carried out the following:

• Specification of topographic survey and bathymetric survey to provide information on floodplain morphology
• Hydrological Analysis of the Avoca River
• Detailed hydro-dynamic flood modelling using MIKE 11 software
• Determination of the flood zone for the particular site
• Recommendations for flood mitigation measures, Sustainable drainage (SuDS) scoping and design.
