The objective of an IPPC licence surrender is to ensure that the facility is closed and decommissioned in a manner that does not give rise to environmental pollution and to identify the need for and extent of any post closure monitoring and aftercare. The process involves liaison with the regulatory authorities (EPA and local authority) on a consistent basis. AWN has completed numerous licence surrenders, Closure and Restoration Management Plans (CRAMP) and Residual Management Plans (RMP) for clients.

We also have developed a significant experience profile in the site closure process, and can provide all elements of the closure audit process, from site investigation to risk assessment and remediation strategy.
