AWN Consulting carried out event noise monitoring during the Magners League Final at Thomond Park in 2011. Thomond Park is located in the heart of Limerick city and is in close proximity to several residential areas. The monitoring was undertaken in order to assess the potential noise impact of the event on these locations.

The measurements are conducted in accordance with the procedures outlined in ISO 1996: 2007: Acoustics – Description and measurement of environmental noise. The monitoring was conducted continuously over a period of several hours and included the period pre and post match in order to determine the existing baseline noise levels.
